Minutes of InfoCo Meeting
12-1-09

Present: Jillian, Elph, Mary, Sarah, Patti, Amy

1. Report from Evan re: Skills & Thrills Weekend

Evan sent us a report from the Skills & Thrills weekend. It's long, but seems straightforward, with no concerning comments that we could spot on scanning through it.

MONKEY: Jillian will forward the report to GO-Talk.

The challenge now is to figure out what actions will come out of the weekend's work. This will involve reviewing the report, the minutes taken by Catherine and Jillian, and some lists that Evan transcribed from small group work on Day 1. Process will take this next step, and either have Gail bring the ideas forward to Steering for distribution to committees, or will give the info directly to committees.

2. Recruiting and Training New Facilitators

Our pool of facilitators is getting scant. Some people are rotating off to take a break. As a result, next season's facilitator assignments include Jillian with two shifts, and one person who didn't really want to do the job.

MONKEY: Amy will send out a message to GO-Talk inviting people to self-identify if they are interested in facilitating. Include a short description of the job.

When we talk to people about their potential interest in facilitating, we should invite them to come to a facilitators' debrief and an InfoCo meeting. Tell them we never expect new facilitators to go solo, we always pair them with an experienced person so they can ease in. It's always ok to ask for help and we would like to mentor new facilitators. You can go at your own pace and in your own style.

We talked about some of the key training points we'd want to be sure to offer.

3. Ideas for a Refreshing Policy Moment?

Gail said there was room on the next agenda (12/14) for a 10 minute "refreshing policy moment." We all liked the idea of reviewing the agreements around behavior in the Common House since winter is nearly here and we'll be spending more time inside. (E.g. no running, no barricading, no vehicles, etc.)

4. Adjourn
