AGENDA AND DISCUSSION
1. Billing Check-in
Heather says everything is A-OK. Checks and receipts are rolling in.
2. Feedback box
No sharp knives in the flatware bin, Please!
Big scraper for after meal plate clearing, please. (see Monkey above)
Too much salad dressing in frig. Ask ...deep... cleaners to pitch exotic condiments and funky dressings. Use stickers at initial cleaning, if stuck dressings are still there at second cleaning, pitch.
On outside of rice cooker, add ...press on... to start rice cooker, with arrow to button.
3. Fundraising meal
Katie, Tammy, Willie will decide on a date and proceed.
4. Steamer
Mel found that what we have is complete, but parts are stored in diverse locations. Also, it doesn...™t seem to be sufficient to steam enough broccoli, for example, for all diners. But, what is available in stores is more of same. Debbie A. will mark pots and steamers and lids that go together with paint-pen so we can more easily use the parts we do have. Amy will email go-talk to see who would use a steamer and what capacity they need.
5. Class at Sunward,
At 7:00, May 26th, Sunward is offering a class on seasonings and sauces called ...Playing with food.... That...™s 7:00, Sunward, May 26th, Playing with food. Again, Sunward, Sauces and Seasonings, May 26th, 7:00.
6. Carnevore/Vege Cooking classes
Katie and Wiullie will set a date and proceed with offering a vege cooking class. We are still looking for a volunteer to do a similar meat cooking class.
7. Carne/vege Offerings at each meal
The controversy (what? At Great Oak?) over carne/vege offerings at each meal and the financing of the more expensive ingredient (generally meat), has been tabled.
7. Touchstone to eat at GO?
Much discussion of this issue and how it would be implemented. Should we offer them the opportunity to participate in the GO meals program for a fee per meal or for labor in the works program or both? Billing, according to Heather, would not be a problem. A bit more work, but it would be similar to the way we handle Sunward. Labor: would we add T-stone participants at beginning of work cycle or on an ad hoc basis? Can T-stone folks do other jobs in work program? We think it should be meals-meals; meals eaten; meals labor. Do we add people to jobs on top of regular shift (i.e. add a 4th cleaner to the current 3)? May make the jobs go faster, may hinder the well-oiled machine that we are at GO. If they are add-ons, there is no problem with when they are added in (doesn...™t have to be at beginning of work season). Offer this to them now or when they move-in? How do we make sure they actually work if they eat (accountability)? What if we just bill them more than we charge GO-ers and say they don...™t have to work? Having them here is a good opportunity to meet new neighbors. Implement a buddy system? Deb would like to spearhead connection with touchstone to find out their interest in participation in the GO meal program. Or, it could be an intrusion on our community-family dinners. Some discussion of limiting participation to one night a week... Thursday with Sunward? Or would that be too crowded?
Amy will work up these issues into a proposal for the community to consider and discuss.
8. Picky Eater supplies
