Insurance
Outstanding issue: Barb Young from State Farm said that the association insurance would cover individual units to the original form. Would this include wood floors, for example? Her response is that the wood floors indeed would be covered.
We also have question about glass for Barb Young, and question for Steve DeLucca about the rate of increase each year in coverage.
At this point, State Farm seems to have a better overall deal. But we still want to provide both agents the same thing to quote on. We might use JD's suggestion that replacement cost would be about 95% of the construction cost, instead of having them use their own estimates. We can also ask for 95% and full coverage to see what the difference is.
There is a long list of differences between the two insurance proposals. We'll ask both companies for $2M liability, both at 95% replacement cost (or 100%). Then we'll choose an agent & company. Afterwards we can pursue refinements, having identified the company with the best rate.
We'll also get in touch with Allison (Sunward) who we think is doing Sunward's review of insurance.
Contingency proposals
F&L has some concerns about a few of the proposals for contingency spending, but we'll definitely put these out for consideration.
We're happy that at the meeting last night we did get some awareness of contingency issues. Our current schedule is:
Now (May 20), ask for any people who want surveys by mail (see below).
Sunday May 25th, deadline for people to say they can do the survey by email.
Sat May 31, deadline for items being submitted. Drop dead.
Sun June 1st, Willie will distribute the complete survey.
June 2nd Monday, regular F&L meeting, discuss survey. Can prepare snail mail at this meeting. Decide how to use the time we have based on what we've received.
Wed June 4 (business meeting), people can lobby for their items.
Wed June 11, deadline for return of surveys, any form.
June 11-June 14, data entry & analysis, Willie, Katie, & Jim.
June 14th-15th, put out email with results.
Monday June 16th (business meeting), community approves prioritized list.
Monkey: Send out to [[Elph]], Infoco, Patti, & Tom email outlining what we think should happen on the 4th. Jim will meet with them on Saturday prior to the meeting. Ask for about 30 minutes to start with, but Jim will work with them. Dale will do this.
June 4th lobbying: Jim will confer with infoco and bring their wisdom to the F&L meeting on June 2nd. There might be time for Q&A on the 4th.
Monkey: Send out reminder to go-talk (and possibly specific committees) of deadline to committees. And probable lobbying on June 4th. Judith.
Monkey: Send out email--reply if you can do the survey by email. Do this now. Kelly. Replies will be sent to Kelly. Katie & Willie will compose the email, but Kelly will send it out. We need the final tally by May Sunday the 25th. Kelly will compile and send out the names of email and snail-mail people.
Operating Budget
We reviewed previous monkeys from 4/17/03 meeting. We've received some budget amounts.
We need to keep up on this--we might be moving in in July!

Can you, or Phoenix/architects, provide these figures, or would it
make sense for us to get the appropriate drawings and calculate them

Dale-
I will inquire with Joe, who has the best CAD program for simply calculating
all of this stuff. I'll get from him what's easy to get and maybe we have
to figure out the rest ourselves.
