Sorry I haven't been able to be at too many CH meetings. I did do some research into high-efficiency laundry machines, though, and am still trying to get a price on a semi-commercial model (something a little heavier-duty, with a bigger capacity for large quilts, etc. -- residential dryers can't always handle the heat) from Speed Queen and/or Maytag.
When did we decide to get only 2 machines? I think we should at least include a high level bid of THREE laundry machines (extrapolating, I guess this would be $4650 -- but to be conservative I think we should ask for $6000 as the high bid, to cover the possibility of getting one light-commercial washer and dryer).
----
[Ted wonders about cleaning equipment--mop bucket etc.]
2. Media room
Systems will cost from 2000 to 5200. Mid value is 3600; Amy recommends this figure
Ed at Sunward is upgrading and we might buy his system.
3. Game room
Pool table, foos ball table, dart board seating
Ping pong table that fits on the pool table
Seating (donated couches)
Lamps (possibly donated, maybe halogen torchieres)
4. Kids room
The feeling in the room is that spending lots of money on toys may be unneccessary--garage sales, donations, etc. should do the job. Can we ask for donations of quality toys?
We need more info on climbers. Is the loft price accurate?
5. Dining room/kitchen
Amy and Melissa have a long list of stuff...too many to include here.
Dining room: chairs and tables
80 chairs
8 dining table
4 folding tables
Many many options, still much work to be done. Amy and Melissa have been working on it, aren't prepared to present anything yet.
What kind of dishware should we get? Fiestaware is a better deal than we though, Corelle is also a possibility. Do we want colorful or plain? Could go either way, but solid colors preferred over patterns.
Categories
a. Appliances (large and small)
b. Table settings & serving dishes
c. Cookware
(remember major appliances will be in the CB--refrigerator, cooktop, ovens, diswasher)
6. Sitting room
Laura had some good quotes (2000-4700)
Some discussion about whether we should do some work with Motawi tile--Laura (and [[Rod]] and Pam) will follow up. At some point there will be a cost-cutting meeting with Kirk to try to straighten out how to do that room.
7. Exercise room
Good figures from Becky
8. Guest room
We will go mainly for donations and lightly used. Becky has offered a double bed.
MONKEY: Becky will come up with a blinds company
[[Rod]] will pass spreadsheet to [[Elph]] for a draft of the contingency proposal.
[[Meeting]] broke up about 1 2:40. Long meeting for us!
