Next Meeting: 11am, Becky's place, Sat 10/11

* CH Usage policy review/update

Melisa will revise the policy to reflect comments from the business meeting and present to committee on 10/11. Plan to present to full community for approval at next business meeting

* Dining Chair/Table report

Elph reports that the samples he ordered did not arrive. There was no discussion.

* Room colors update

Agreed to hold on sitting room colors until at least after the meeting with Kirk and the contractors. Might also want to consider first purchasing furnishings and using colors that tie in with them, rather than vice versa.

Kids room colors have been chosen: Sherwin-Wiliams SW6873 Coral Bead for the carpeted area, and SW 6936 Aqua Tint for the marmoleum area.

Brief discussion of how to show colors to full community. Suggestion to present them at a full meeting. Concern about getting too much feedback, or strong contradictory opinions. Perhaps don't let people who did not participate in the decision (and who do not know the background behind it) derail the whole thing. And it's only paint. We can always change it. But it's important that the community hear what it is we've decided. Suggest we post all final color decisions to minutes.

* Revisit piano decision

Suggestion we revisit decision to reject Hope's piano donation/loan. Hope tried to address CH Cmte. concerns in her proposal, and told of other supporters that cmte. did not know about.

Hope's counterproposal made piano a donation, rather than loan, but wants first right of refusal if we get rid of it is all. Willing to do 6 mo. trial, and pay to remove if necessary. If we can find a good space for it, the cmte. feels concerns have been addressed and is willing to give it a go...but wait! Seconds before the committee is about to agree, someone comes in with new and shocking information! There has been a strong statement of opposition to the donation, based on a description that suggests the lower register is in need of complete re-stringing, a very expensive proposition. Cmte. does not want a bum piano; we defer the decision until this point is clarified. Hope is to be invited to next meeting to discuss.

* Storage facility consideration

Brief discussion of need for storage for CH donations and equipment purchases. Currently it appears that community garages will be sufficient. No action to be taken yet on reserving other space.

MONKEY: Becky to inquire about Sara and Lisa's need to get the treadmill out of their life. Might need a place to store it. People offer their basements...

* Construction check-in

Roof to start next week. Interior framing to be complete within 4 weeks. Curious about small work crew on site. Clarification from Steering meeting on this point: current framing is very complex. Crew is small because these are the guys that are good. Can't have too many other guys around because they want to keep tight supervision on this part of the building and get it right. Don't know if crew will grow later or not.

* Sitting room meeting schedule

Need to have a few people there. Ted to try and schedule Fri 10/17. Meeting will probably last most of morning. Attendees possible: Elph, Ted, Rod, Laura, Jenny

* Un-Agenda-ed notes:

We'll need to paint the underside of the roof overhangs and rafters where nails show through. Possibly before siding and windows are installed--could spray without worries about messing up finish.
