CH minutes 2/22/09Present: Becky, Katie, Mac
Agenda
*Touchstone partial year lease
*Update on Supervision Policy
*Laundry room issues
*jobs for next work season
*Next mtg date March 1st
Katie will try to find someone to come service the sitting room
fireplace.
John is going to contact a plumber to come fix west bathroom sink and
evaluate the kitchen garbage disposal.
Office Lease
Touchstone wanted to know if we would be ok with a shorter office
lease, or even month to month. We discussed, and since there is no
current interest, we say 6month lease and then month-to-month from
then on.
Supervision Policy - didn't finish writing due to vacation, will have
done by next meeting. Once committee gives ok, we will distribute to
the community and announce at a community meeting.
Work Committee: Please reinstate the aquarium cleaner job. And the
CH porch cleaner job.
Katie, Mac and Rachel all responded that they want to continue as
counted members. Judith is also interested - can we have 4 counted
members? Becky will continue as convener.
Jim suggested that bathroom/hallway ---- decided not too because some
folks who want to do halls might not want to do bathrooms too.
Katie will contact Tom about how the waxing job is going and if we
should continue it for next work season.
Eric stopped by to suggest replacing the sitting room cupboard doors
with glass so we can see what's there and start storing more games.
Concerns about messiness, concerns about game pieces getting all
over. Suggest labels to start.
Laundry Room
It seems from some of the resent emails that we need to set up a
laundry room meeting and develop a master plan for it. Then implement
in stages as money allows. Becky will contact Judith about getting
this scheduled. For the people who use this room, it is really
important that we have a transparent process. We need to make sure we
are giving folks a chance to give input, post minutes, etc.
Improvement Projects.
Other then the laundry, we brainstormed a few others. Fixing the
concrete floor. Let's get another quote, and also find out how long
it is expected to last. If whatever treatment we do is only going to
last for 3 years or so, do we want to have a regular high expense?
Katie will start researching dining room table replacement (which
comes out of LTCRF). Again, if anyone wants to honcho BUILDING the
tables, please speak up!
Becky will contact Jeff for electrician recommendation (please email
me directly if you have one) to install a ceiling fan in the game room
to help with the temperature stratification in there. This room
contains the thermostat for that end, and it's really important we get
the air circulating. This job would involve running electric to the
ceiling and blocking for a ceiling fan - nothing is currently there.
Game room improvements. We brainstormed quite a bit about this room.
We know we need some community discussion about visions for this room,
but there are several things we could be doing now to improve the feel
of the room no matter what we decide down the road. We all agreed
that the wall color is pretty bright, so right now we are thinking we
will paint that room during the spring work day. Becky will also
check in with Heather about the ceiling sound dampeners/baffles, she
was going to make.
We agreed to get pricing on a few things, but have not made any final
decisions other than getting a new washer and dryer.
