Meals Committee Meeting7/12/2021

Common House Reopening
Steps to re-open kitchen
• Deep clean – look for volunteers to come have a work session to
clean and organize the kitchen and dining room
• Need to do an inventory of spices and other staples, throw out old
and replace with new
• Clean floors, counters, sinks
• Run Hobart
• Clean out fridge
• Needs to happen before first meal (waiting on date from Kelly)
• Need to determine status of common house/meals shopper and make sure
those tasks are covered for minimal meals next few months
Meals
• Kelly and Tammy have July & August cooked meals
• Going to pick dates and try to recruit volunteer cleaning teams to
do an old-school common meal
• Some people received hours in prior work season for cooked meals but
did not do work because common house wasn’t available – if they want
to do meals now, we will facilitate scheduling and soliciting
volunteer cleaners
• Cooks should ask folks to leave a comment if they want patio seating
– assume that all families with little kids should have patio seating
unless late plates are requested
• Limit meals default to 32 people to ensure no more than 30 in the
common house (there are always no-shows and takeout), but cooks can
allow more based on patio seating & late plates
• Takeout meals should remain as they have been up until now -if
people want to gather and eat in common house or on patio they can do
so, but are responsible for their own dishes
Next Work Season
• Plan currently is to return to 4 meals per week in the fall, will
make final decision at next meeting
• Need to be sure to check billers hours to make sure they are back to
full – can’t remember if we cut that for current work season
• Will meals be open to Touchstone when we restart full program in
fall? TBD – depends on community agreements and numbers. Will revisit
at future meetings
Billers Report
• Balance is currently fine. One outstanding large balance, Eric will
remind about payment due.
