2. Monkeys
ONGOING MONKEY Patti bringing chocolate for the two community meetings a
month.
ONGOING MONKEY: facilitators - when there’s a new proposal, or discussion
of any new idea, ask for clarifying questions, then ask for positive
reflections about it, before they go into discussion of concerns.
ONGOING for a little while: Per request at the last meeting by new people,
facilitators to please bring out the meeting guidelines poster and actually
go over it at the start of meetings. They should please go over facilitator
guidelines too, even if we don’t have a poster. Should explain things like,
that facilitators are managing the stack and that they can adjust the order
to call on people as needed. (Could still write the stack down on a
whiteboard but the facil could choose to change the order.)
ONGOING MONKEY: Schedule a few refreshing policy moments:
o Blocking - Refreshing policy moment but also more discussion probably.
o Parking
o DONE Expectations for interacting with visitors (from New Member Packet)
o Cleaning up after yourself in the CH / Expectations for teen and youth
cmty work, CH access, and supervision
o Review of GO proposal and decision-making processes and revisiting
decisions
o Overview of BOA and how to search for agreements - demo
o Minutes must be emailed to their minutes email address for the BOA and
to talk.
o Refreshing policy moment on empowered committees
o ONGOING: Go over our community meeting guidelines
Re-MONKEY: process to modify our mandate template to add method of decision
making
ONGOING MONKEY: Willie and Yi-miau to work together on getting the missing
minutes back into the BOA, maybe one committee at a time, they will work
together.
Re-MONKEY: Yi-miau will mark the expired agreements as expired.
DONE: Patti will email Sarah for a 40 minute item for future agenda to
discuss stand asides and blocks.
Re-MONKEY: Jillian will work on draft of Agreement Reconsideration
Agreement to add more structure and will email to Process. And then will
email Sarah to ask for agenda time for 20 minute discussion decision -
likely October at this point.
MONKEY: What if the Ambassador were tasked with presenting at a community
meeting each work season. AND/OR What if we had a “committee corner” at
each community meeting - two committees would be “on deck” for 5 minutes
each to share what they’re working on - does not have to be formal.
IN PROGRESS: Jillian to ask Mary and Sarah if they’d have any interest and
availability to do a process-related training in the fall. One idea - Stand
asides and blocks might be an interesting one - we have lots of new people
and have not discussed that in ages.
MONKEY: Jillian to fill in Process preassignments
MONKEY: Jillian to email budget numbers to Mary King
MONKEY: Yi-miau will let Process know which date is best for CRC to meet
with Process, 10/14 or 10/15.
MONKEY; Yi-miau will ask Anastasia and family about the two dates, 9/17 and
10/13 and about what kind of dessert might work.
MONKEY: Jillian will ask Bob about the two dates, 9/17 and 10/13
MONKEY: Next season, add a process member slot so we have three members
plus convenor, and reduce convenor hours. Same person can be convenor and
member.
MONKEY: yi-miau will look at the existing job description for BOA content
entry and see if it needs any additions. She will check in with Bob M and
Niecy.
MONKEY: Patti will be able to attend the work allocation meeting on 9/28.
(Jillian will be in Spain).
3.Minutes Update
Yi-miau and Willie still working on finishing up the last batch of minutes
not yet in the BOA.
They are not quite done but should be done by end of October.
4. CRC, next work season, and also Oct info item?
Patti, Yi-miau, and Jillian met over lunch in late August.
CRC will be Susan, Terrence, and Erik K.
Yi-miau will not be on CRC, Bob will not be on CRC.
Yi-miau will come on to Process cmtee and will have a liaison role with
CRC. She will convene a meeting with CRC first and discuss the model of
working as a team or working as indiv. And then will convene a meeting with
Process to talk about the workload and the support CRC may need, and if the
community has clear info on how to engage CRC. Then to request agenda time
for a community meeting presentation. Yi-miau also discussed process’s
mission to educate about conflict (Patti shared 60 mins Communication and
Conflict powerpoint here for consideration).
Yi-miau will come to Process meetings as a volunteer, thanks Yi-miau!
We will leave the third spot open.
We set two tentative dates in October for a joint meeting of Process and
CRC once they have had some internal discussion.
MONKEY: Yi-miau will let Process know which date is best for CRC to meet
with Process, 10/14 or 10/15.
5. Update on celebration for GOers moving to TS
We didn’t have interest/availability from Membership cmtee on working on
this, too busy, and they said maybe fun club should do it.
There was a gathering at the east node shade structure for Bob and Lindsey.
Yi-miau is cooking on 10/13, maybe we could do something then. A special
dessert. Some way to share appreciations. Let people know ahead of time
this will happen, think ahead about appreciations they’d like to share
about three households - Yi-miau/Thomas/Lea, Bob, and
Anastasia/Asi/Yvonne/Naomi / Luna
Patti did email the three households with some dates but some too busy to
answer.

How will we pay for it?
Tammy and Yi-miau are the cooks, maybe we could say, if you didn’t sign up
for dinner please put $1 in a jar toward the dessert. Or use Process
supplies money. This is ok with me.
6. Process 2020 budget
2019 numbers
Archives: $50 (sometimes Gail needs materials like binders, sleeves, etc)
Meeting Supplies: $200 (chocolate, flip charts, pens, easels if needed etc)
Member Resources: $100 (to contribute up to 50% for training or some kind
of learning that would be applicable to life at GO, also used for books for
community library when requested/suggested)
Process related training: $500
Skills and Thrills: $1700 (annual community event)
Process Total $2,550.00
Member resources - in the past its been used for Serv Safe. This year it
supported one member in attending the national cohousing conference.
Let’s ask for member resources to go back to $200.
Note that the Process training money, $500, started in 2016. It is for
process related training but we have also discussed that it may be used as
a fund to pay outside facilitators if we needed - maybe $40 a meeting? IF
we need it, but we have not had to do that.

7. Work season pre-assignments
Discussed a bit that we need more facilitators. Have heard Andrew is
potentially interested. Emily? Jennifer? Jennifer is doing a reduced
workload.
Leave one process committee slot open.
Minute taking will be half preassigned. Amy, Patti, Jillian

Preassign Patti to Process convenor, Jillian will be a member. We’ll see

Process to preassign to one alt meeting for Patti’s communication and
conflict workshop
We need to find a new person for BOA content entry and then organize a
training with yi-miau, and us too! This MUST be a very pro-active person,
to nag presenters to update their proposals with any final changes and give
to BOA person.
MONKEY: yi-miau will look at the existing job description for BOA content
entry and see if it needs any additions. She will check in with Bob M and
Niecy.
MONKEY: Jillian will fill in process preassignments.
