2. Monkey review

MONKEYS from previous meetings:

Re-MONKEY: Patti will check in with Pam to see how she felt about her
alternative gathering. (After each alternative gathering, Monkey an
infoco member to check in with the leader and ask
them about their experience, if they felt supported, if they would do
it again, what would be helpful in future, etc.)

Ongoing MONKEY: Sarah will make the facilitator group fun!

Ongoing MONKEY: We should all appreciate the minute takers! Many
communities struggle with this and we have been doing GREAT with it.

DONE: MONKEY: Jillian will bring the "input in absentia" draft
forward as a pre-proposal for input and will email the agenda person to
get on the stack.

COOLER for Alt Meeting topic: revisit our vision statement

COOLER: Strategic planning discussion. (The teacher, Grace Bogs, that
Rod and Melisa had for strategic planning said she would do a 2-hour
workshop for free, might want to contact her for a spring alt
meeting.) People recently talked about the Grounds walkaround alt
meeting as a basis for a bigger picture discussion, a long range
plan. Or a discussion around turnover at GO. And that would fit in
with the budget priorities to talk bigger picture stuff. Maybe
process's fall event, we'll be 5 years in August on the land, do a
strategic planning discussion of some kind. Need to figure out how to
focus it.

MONKEYS from this meeting 4/8/08

MONKEY: Patti will survey the 6 of us for the best meeting time
May-August. And ask how can we make it more fun and learning - get
ideas, each person assigned to come up with an activity? Not just to
work on the upcoming community meeting agenda, although that is part
of what infoco should do also.

MONKEY: Mary and Elph will need to meet separately to plan for the
4/21 community meeting and let infoco know if we can help with
anything.

MONKEY: Gail will check in with Jim about if we can contact the 8
people who are interested in being a summer alternative meeting
leader.

maybe MONKEY (Process will decide on 4/9): Maybe ask the 8 people who
are interested, what they're thinking of doing, could it be a part of
a regular meeting, could it perhaps be combined with some other kind
of event or alternative meeting, how time urgent is it, if it needs
to be done during warm weather, etc.

Re-MONKEY: Jillian will check in with Alicia about if she is
willing/planning to bring forward the discussion about non-GO kids in
the common house to a community meeting
-----------

3. Next meeting Facilitators: Mary & Elph

Neither could make it tonite.

What is on the agenda? Input in absentia, and some items from CRC,
one about email etiquette.

MONKEY: Mary and Elph will need to meet separately and let infoco
know if we can help with anything.

4. INFOCO & next work season

a. Time allocation - some concerns about uneven distribution between
community meeting facilitators and alternative facilitators

Process met with a member of work cmtee and talked about this, and
did adjust hours. The alt meeting folks now get 3 hours of work
credit for their one event. And there are 6 facilitators instead of
8, to cover 2 facils per regular meeting, 1 facil/point person per
alternative gathering, plus debriefs and infoco meetings.

Have we figured out the percentages of the work credit and what
percent it covers and doesn't cover, for facils and alt meeting
leaders? Its another way to look at it. No we have not done that to
date.

We'll have to see how it goes this season with 6 facils.

b. Infoco meetings and attendance.

Folks aren't coming to infoco meetings much, when we had hoped this
could be a group that supports eachother, keeps learning together etc.

Process talked about having one infoco meeting a month rather than
two. And how to keep it focused and keep the enthusiasm and a
continuation of learning, we've really lost that momentum.

Finding a meeting time once a month, ideally near the 3rd Monday of
the month, that the core of 6 can make it to, and then hopefully
others would come as well?

Idea, have a slightly longer meeting that has something to learn
planned - an exercise like a role play or example to try, and each
time one of us is assigned to come up with one.

MONKEY: Patti will survey the 6 of us for the best meeting time
May-August. And ask how can we make it more fun and learning - get
ideas, each person assigned to come up with an activity? Not just to
work on the upcoming community meeting agenda, although that is also
part of what infoco does.

5. Alternative meeting leaders

There are now a lot of people interested in doing alternative
meetings. A good problem to have! We may need to come up with
criteria to explain how we "choose" which people get to do this if we
have more people than slots. Or just say its random.

Ideas? If you've done one already someone else will get a chance?

Apparently there are 8 people who are interested for the 4 slots of
May-August. Maybe we can pair people up or combine some. But I don't
know how that would work credit-wise... Or perhaps some items might
work at a regular community meetings. Sometimes regular meeting
agendas get light for the summer.

Sometimes it might require drawing names from a hat so its random and
let people know.

MONKEY: Gail will check in with Jim about if we can contact the 8 people.

maybe MONKEY (Process will decide on 4/9): Maybe ask the 8 people who
are interested, what they're thinking of doing, could it be a part of
a regular meeting, could it perhaps be combined with some other kind
of event or alternative meeting, how time urgent is it, if it needs
to be done during warm weather, etc.

6. Game Room Programming and ideas for constructive conversation
with CH cmtee

We need CH cmtee folks to be here to talk with us about this.

7. Unsupervised NON-GO Kids in the CH and ideas for constructive conversation

Re-MONKEY: Jillian will check in with Alicia about if she is
willing/planning to bring forward the discussion about non-GO kids in
the common house to a community meeting

Jillian or Alicia would introduce the topic, explain that GO needs a
common understanding about what to do, we've only had email
discussion about this.

I think it won't be as hard as when we talk about our own kids - will
probably be easier when we're looking for a common solution for
non-GO kids in the common house.

For example, come up with a guideline so that every adult will know
they should ask a kid when they find them in the CH with no adult and
they don't know who they are, ask them which GO adult they are with,
and call that adult, and if they can't name an adult then the kid(s)
need to leave the CH. Question, what if they are with GO kids in the
CH? First, need to make sure they really are with GO kids, some kids
know the names of GO kids, need to check with the GO kids to make
sure that that is the case. And then find out which parent is on duty
for the GO kid.

I think we need a culture of communication around this and other
issues too, I really like it when people announce when they will use
the common house for special things so I know.

8. Next meeting
4/27, Sunday, and we can talk about the results of the when should
infoco meet survey that Patti will do. Also we will need to set the
summer facilitation schedule.
