2. Monkeys
Bringing chocolate for the two community meetings a month.
Re-MONKEY Sarah to share their handouts and powerpoint to the Process cmtee
google folder in drive. (See 3/19/16 Process minutes)(Feb 2016 Training)
ONGOING MONKEY: at each facilitator brunch: could ask facilitators - when
there’s a new proposal, or discussion of any new idea, ask for questions,
then ask for positive reflections about it, before they go into discussion
of concerns.
ONGOING MONKEY: Schedule a few refreshing policy moments:
Parking
Expectations for interacting with visitors (from New Member Packet)
Cleaning up after yourself in the CH / Expectations for teen and youth cmty
work, CH access, and supervision
Review of GO proposal and decision-making processes and revisiting decisions
Overview of BOA and how to search for agreements - demo
Minutes must be emailed to their minutes email address for the BOA and to
talk.
Request for email etiquette agreement 4/2/18
RE-MONKEY: Jillian will add to the BOA updater job description, tracking if
committees are sending in minutes, and if community meeting minutes are in
there too.
COOLER: Jillian will add Vice President (infoco convenor) and Secretary
(process convenor) into the mandate and email out new copy - BUT check
with Debbi first to makes sure it is correct, F&L may change this anyway.
Re-MONKEY: We need to create an agenda item for blocking processes, for an
info discussion item, then from that we can craft a proposal. Jillian will
email Yi-miau and ask her to put it in the queue.
MONKEY: Jillian will ask for some time on 4/16 meeting for skills and
thrills.
MONKEY: Jillian will check in with buildings, see if they would be willing
to present to the community about the committee structure they have been
trying
MONKEY: Patti will look at the Process assigned jobs and stop in on the
work allocation meeting
MONKEY: Jillian send out the facilitator and minute taker and alt meeting
leader scheduling surveys.
MONKEY: Bob will write up his thoughts on our next steps for Skills and
THrills
MONKEY: Jillian will print out fliers for the April 28 training
MONKEY: Jillian will mention the training at the facil brunch on 4/14
MONKEY: Patti will check in with Susan about adding email etiquette back in
since we have an 80 minute agenda instead of 90 minute.
3. April 28 Training
Mary and Sarah taking care of most things, looks good. Jillian will print
out fliers

Patti went to the Work allocation party and they moved around a couple
things but was mostly fine.
5. Next meeting agenda
MONKEY: Patti will check in with Susan about adding email etiquette back in
since we have an 80 minute agenda instead of 90 minute.
6. Next steps, community discussion about CH issues
Discussion about how odd the process has been, that people did not go talk
with CH cmtee and need to discuss CRC role too, make sure CRC understands
the process too. So what is the best way for this to come to the community?
Seems like a sharing circle might be best if there’s too much emotional
churn about it to jump right into a logical next steps discussion.
Saturday May 19 community meeting? Saturday time seems preferable to
people. Five areas we've identified to cover but don’t know in what order
to do these with the community:
- Allowing people to share feelings around the issues happening in the
common house, maybe: “How are you feeling about the misuse of the common
house, and about the potential step of adding a camera to the hallway?”
- CH cmtee to have a chance to share its thought process and perspective -
ask them to please fill us in what was your thought process, what is your
context, what needs were you trying to address, what is past history and
successes you’ve had with related CH issues.
- Community discussing the needs and coming up with a new proposal(s)
- In general our process for going direct, which includes talking with
committees when you have an issue, and then next step after that has been
tried, is full community - help make sure a different process happens next
time. Is it helpful to start with this or end with this? Maybe end.
- Creating a culture of Inclusion of teens
Is the upset with CH cmtee decision, or with CH cmtee process? The upset is
mostly with their decision, but at least one person feels that CH should
have known to bring this to the community. But CH cmtee did not do that
maliciously of course, to them it was not drastic or clear that it needed
to come to the community. CH has been discussing idea a long time and
trying other options in meantime. So in that context trying to address the
problems of misuse, they did not see this step as a big one. They are an
empowered cmtee and in GO’s process, people when concerned should be going
directly to CH cmtee, ideally in person, and participating in discussion
and sharing concerns, and then asking for it to come to community if no
satisfactory resolution reached.
So maybe on May 19
(a) Process cmtee to explain the format for today.
(b) Process to share big picture process briefly of empowered cmtees and
everyone’s responsibility to interact with them.
(c) CH to share their info on their experiences and process that led to a
conclusion to try a camera
(d) Then feelings sharing “How are you feeling about the misuse of the
common house, and about the potential step of adding a camera to the
hallway?”
Normally in sharing circles we only do the emotional share, not sure if we
should try to do anything else other than (d) on the same night or not… (b)
might just come across as scolding, and (c ) might cause upset if people
have not yet expressed their emotional responses. Perhaps we should only do
(a) and (d).

sitting room, and also scheduled lunch for 4/19/18.
