Minutes:
InfoCo MinutesSunday, January 27, 2008
Present: Patti, Elph, AmyH, Lucy, Gail, Jillian
1. Monkey/Cooler Review
The subject of non-GO kids in the Common House came up.
MONKEY: Lucy will look for a helpful e-mail that Alicia sent out
and send it to InfoCo.
Anyone in the community who wants to can bring this item forward for
discussion at a Community meeting. Alicia brought it up in the
past, but she is busy now (smiley face).
COOLER: Item about how to submit input to community meetings when
you can’t attend.
RE-MONKEY: Patti will check in with Pam about how she felt her
Alternative meeting went on Jan. 2.
2. Alternative meeting on Feb. 6
Amy is assigned to be a helper to Megan for the Alternative meeting
on Feb. 6. Megan said she wants to do something about food.
MONKEY: Amy will check in with Megan to see what kind of help she
needs. If she needs more help than Amy can provide, others on InfoCo
are willing to help. This is on Feb. 6.
3. Next regular meeting on Feb. 18
Bring back proposed changes to the Work Agreement, for decision. Amy
will be the presenter if she can get out of a “mandatory parents’
meeting” that evening from 6:30-7:30 for something Melanie is
doing. Plan B will be to see if Lisa or Jim can present.
Review how we got to where we are – refer to the list of concerns
that was developed last time – and then focus on Work Agreement.
How much time will the Work Agreement discussion need on Feb. 18?
Not sure. We could devote the whole meeting to it, or put another
item on the agenda with the understanding that it can be bumped off
if needed.
Work cmtee has heard that there are additional ideas for changes to
the Work Agreement, but the Work cmtee is only bringing forward the
previously discussed changes for now; there can be additional changes
to the Work Agreement in future (eg, the idea of a maximum number of
rental units has been mentioned, but Work cmtee does not want to add
that to their proposal right now). So facils for Feb 18 will just
need to be aware of that potentially coming up.
During the discussion on Feb 18, people may need time to talk about
their personal situations, so they feel heard. (We have several
renter households now, obviously, who joined before we had a Work
Agreement for renters.) Facils may need to help the group be
accepting of hearing the personal situations, and, at the same time
help the group to hold on to a big picture, long-term discussion,
looking at the future of what GO wants vis-a-vis renters and work.
Discussion of how flexible the work system is, and how the Work cmtee
has worked with individuals to help accommodate their needs, may be
very helpful in diffusing any tension.
Other items on the docket:
- plowing at Sunward
- prioritize Grounds projects
- giving community input in absentia
4. Next meeting: Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7pm. Make sure someone
comes from Work comtee to discuss.
