Minutes:

MEAL WORKERS CHECK-IN
We discussed the results of our email to meals workers in which we asked
how it is going. We are learning that there are some broad problems with
people missing shifts, particularly dinner cleans. We developed a few
steps toward addressing some of them.

Yi-Miau will ask meals workers if they are getting their reminder emails.

MEALS ACCOUNT BALANCE
If all head cooks cashed their checks today, we’d have about $1800 in the
Meals account. This is a nice cushion, even with Patti doing some shopping
for the kitchen today.

In general, Meals would like to have a cushion of at least $500 in the
account. We discussed moving $500 into our savings account so that we can
always move it back if we need to. But before we dip into those savings, we
send out an email asking people to pay their bills. Kathy will transfer
$500 to the Meals savings account, and let Becky Hoort know, also.

NEW WORKER CHECK-INS
Starting in November, we will begin a new work season. This is Terrance’s
last Meals committee meeting for now. We thanked him for his contributions.
It’s been a pleasure to have him on the committee!

Annie and Bennie are both new workers for meals shifts. Jan will be head
and assistant cooking. Yi-Miau will check in with them to ask if they
questions about the work or about scheduling.

We want to ask Willie to make sure Jan gets to be an assistant cook before
she is scheduled for a head cook shift.

MEALS SHIFTS REMINDERS
Catherine will check in with a couple of meal workers in person.
Terrence will re-institute the reminders for all Sunday meals workers about
the earlier time.

GRILL CHECKUP AT FALL WORKDAY, AND OTHER FALL WORKDAY JOBS
People can continue to use the grill. It’s not shut down for the winter.
Due to insurance requirements, when we move the grill closer to the common
house (under the eaves to get them out of the weather) we have to detach
the propane tank and put it in the yellow cage.

Suggestion for grill safety. Anyone using the grill should clean after
EVERY use. Clean up the grease and any food that has fallen into the
grill. As a remind, we won’t have a grill cleaner job for the winter work
season.

MATTERS ARISING
YiMiau will ask the next work day coordinator to make sure the ovens get
cleaned.

NEXT MEETING: NOVEMBER 12, 7 PM

OLD MONKEYS

REMONKEY Catherine will draft an email for cooks and another for diners.

REMONKEY We will also do a review of community allergens, and dietary
restrictions.

REMONKEY Tammy will draft a survey and Yi-Miau will work with her.

DONE Tammy will ask the Meals billers how much has been billed to Meals for
propane for the grills since May 2018, and follow up with Touchstone.

DONE Yi-Miau will reserve rooms for next meetings

DONE The first aid kit in the common house kitchen is missing. We sent an
email out to the community. If we don’t have the first aid kit back by
Friday, YiMiau will ask the common house shopper to replace it. She will
