1. Washing machine replacement

With the labor day sales we were able to purchase the same washer as last
time for $300 off the $800 list price. For those keeping score, that's $50
less then the last purchase which was on sale at that time for $250 off.
Last week it was $75 off. Anyway, for the record, I have purchased a
Samsung WF42H5000AW washing machien for $643.91.

Note, the price includes a 5 year extended warranty from Lowe's. This
covers everything, including parts and labor, for 5-years. For the price of
$110 it seems like a good experiment. We call Lowes and they dispatch good
ole Mastertech, which while it won't improve dispatch time, should lower
our cost of maintenance. Receipt with qualifying information will be taped
in a zip lock bag to the side of the washer.

They will deliver and take away the old one. I've told them not to worry
about a non-matching brand dryer being on the top and the resulting
inability to lock them together. Or hooking up the hoses (which costs $30
extra.) We'll deal with that ourselves. The last one was easy - took a few
drilled holes and it hooked together fine.

It should be here around Sep 11 or so. I'd love to have a volunteer or two
to be on call for the delivery. They have already been paid. It's just a
matter of showing them the laundry room and making sure they take away the
correct washer (the one by the window.)

2. Kids use of Exercise Room

A parent (Tammy) asked that we allow their child (Liam), age 12, to use the
exercise room per our policy.
As this was the first time the policy had been put in use we reviewed the
reasons why we limit children from the exercise room. They are 1) safety of
kids from equipment, 2) lifespan of equipment, 3) safety of kids from hot
tub which is through an unlockable door.

Implementation: we ask to have parents sign off in writing (email is fine)
that they approve their teen, who already has access to the CH, to have
solo access to the exercise room. A list will be posted in the exercise
room listing names.

3. Steam carpet cleaner replacement

In discussion the CH cmtee does not think we should replace the poorly
working steam cleaner. It does not have a good track record for
functionality. It is an expensive and complex tool. Instead of having a
steam cleaner the CH committee recommends hiring a carpet cleaner company
(we use Stanley Steamer for cleaning the CH) or renting one from a place
like Lowes. We will not be putting it forward as a budget item.

4. Reviewing use of door codes

The summer trial is almost over for using the door codes. It goes through
Sep 30th. We will be putting out a feedback survey in Sep. Book of
agreements link: http://www.gocoho.org/boa/?id=agreement&num=247

5. Changing lock code

As part of the door code trial we agreed we would change the door code at
the beginning of each work period. That happens on Sep 1st. An email with
the new code will be sent to talk at gocoho.org when the door code is changed.

6. Power outlet night lights

Some night lights for the hallways were talked about. The light is a
replacement outlet cover with LED lights in the bottom edge that comes on
automatically in the dark. Discussion was that there is not a big need for
them if the hall lights are on as they are supposed to but it is a small
expense and may help at night so go ahead and spend from improvements.

7. Maintenance report

Ted says, new toilet seat installed and bathroom door knob fixed.
Nancy says, would like to reseal sitting room furniture arms and tables -
ted says too much work for him to do it the full on way he would do it -
meg says may have something that could make it better - nancy is following
up
Monkeys - Ted: The maintenance list includes to do, the #1 package box lock
needs replacement and loose handle on freezer door of fridge needs to be
tightened

8. Replace flooring in laundry room

Some folks have brought up how the laundry room marmoleum is pretty messed
up in the laundry room. We have this and the kitchen on death watch. The
kitchen will wait until the remodel plan is out, so this fall we should
proceed with having the laundry room marmoleum removed and the concrete
cleaned and acrylic sealed like the foyer and bathrooms - proposal is to
use the green color from the foyer design for the laundry room.

9. Look into replacing laundry room utility sink with a mop sink

A member has asked that we look into replacing the laundry room utility
sink with a floor level mop sink because this would match how we use it and
make it easier on cleaners. We will ask Ted what it would take to do that.
Monkey - Ted: Look into replacing laundry room utility sink with a mop sink
