Minutes:
Present: Jillian, VasiMONKEYS:
ONGOING MONKEY:
Bringing chocolate for the two community meetings a month:
May: Elisha
June: Jillian
July: Vasi (check with Jillian first, still has chocolate from June)
August:
COOLER: We could bring up at a community meeting, the idea of if we should
talk about how we each want to be contacted on community business, and see
what people think about it. So many options now for how to be contacted,
and some people seem to only use certain modes, would be good to know.
Maybe add it to contact sheet?
DONE: Gail will hand out the scheduling slips for the process roles in the
next work season. She may give them to Jillian to assign who will work on
what dates since Gail will have family in town and then will be traveling.
DONE: Elisha will email or call Mary Thiefels Treetown Murals person since
Jillian has not had success in getting information from Mary.
DONE: Jillian will contact CH cmtee and ask them to review the Hot Tub
Trial Policies doc, and then contact Catherine to put in an updated
version.
DONE Jillian will email the Workshop Operating Rule to Ted and see if
there's something that's changed or out of date (fees? Shop Manager?)
DONE: Jillian will ask Catherine to remove Trial Period from the Trail
Period Community Meeting Time change agreement,
http://www.gocoho.org/boa/?id=agreement&num=169
given the NOTE from Oct 2009 that we did agree as a community to this time.
Also, catherine should please mark this agreement as being out of date,
replaced by the other. http://www.gocoho.org/boa/?id=agreement&num=173
3. This and Next Work Season
Some swapping has happened among various meeting roles but seems like
everything is covered, at least for now. We did have a slight facilitator
shortage but Elph was willing to do a double-slot.
Kelly is the facilitator in training and she has come to some meetings and
meeting debriefs which is great. We should keep reminding facilitators to
include Kelly in their meeting planning and/or in any meeting roles that
are needed.
Helen has picked up the Agenda planning job and Gail passed along detailed
instructions to her which is great. Gail is taking a break from Process
cmtee meetings, we miss you, and thanks for attending for so long!
4. Skills and Thrills 2015
The mural implementation group met last night, after receiving a black and
white draft drawing from Mary Thiefels, based on elements from the mandalas
that we all did in November. The draft is off to a good start, the group
gave some great feedback/suggestions so will see another draft. The group
also walked around to come up with the likely location. And a great idea to
paint a few little elements from the mandala, elsewhere in the community,
to remind people about it.
5. Refreshing Policy Moments this summer
What agreements do you think it would be useful to go over at a community
meeting this summer?
Do you know how to get to the book of agreements? It's at www.gocoho.org/my
and then follow the book of agreements link. Most of them are public, if
you want to see the private version just log in at the top.
Are there agreements around the common house kids room and cleaning it up,
was just curious.
Sure, that's common house usage.
MONKEY: Let's each look in the Book of Agreements at the list of agreements
this week, and see which ones jump out at us as ones that might be good to
go over as a group and email the rest of us with your ideas.
6. August alternative meeting about consensus
The first-Wednesday alternative meeting in August (Aug 5) is slotted for
Process education. What do you think would be useful to do at a community
meeting, for people to learn more about how consensus works or how
facilitation works?
Please put it on your calendar so we can do something together if work
schedules allow.
I'm curious to hear about what have been the trouble spots, do a lot of
people block?
Blocks are pretty rare, the process has worked fairly well here overall,
people have been pretty willing to listen to each other, to show up and
talk about an issue with an open mind so that we can come up with a way
forward as a group that everyone can live with. Not to say we have not had
bumpy times!
MONKEY: Let's think about and email each other with, what are some ideas
about what we could do on August 5 that might be of interest to both old
and new members.
7. Training more facilitators
It would be good for our committee to put more energy in to helping new
facilitators learn so they can be part of the facilitation group.
MONKEY: what ideas do you have about how we could help new people learn
facilitation?
8. Next meeting
How about an evening between July 5 and July 8? Jillian will be out of town
the following week.
