TV Room - DISH receiver

We have a new DISH receiver, thanks Mary King for sitting it out while the
technician got everything installed. There is a new remote. Same channels.

Shit on walls

The cleaning crew say that three times since november they have found and
cleaned smeared feces off the wall near the toilet in the east bathroom. We
have asked them to notify Nancy the next time it happens and we'll see if
we can correlate it with any happenings in the CH.

Far left washer having problems

There have been two reports of problems with the far left washer that have
then gone away. One was sound, the other was the washer running overnight
with 1 minute remaining. We'll ask folks to either email us or use the
maintenance log on the refrigerator door to record these events so we can
keep track of them.

Hobart occasional issues

We have gotten occasional reports of issues with the Hobart and folks
suspect there are more things happening that we are not hearing about.

Washers - using the powder or liquid selector in the drawer

It has been reported that it seems as though some folks don't realize there
is a selector inside the laundry soap drawer that needs to be slid one way
or the other depending on what kind of detergent is being used. We've asked
Judith if she could come up with some succinct wording to explain this on
the outside of the soap drawer.

Fireplace being left on

The fireplace has an ongoing issue wherein folks forget to turn off the
thermostat attached to it and so it runs for a longer time than they had
planned. There is a suggestion to put in a mechanical timer and the CH
thinks this is a keen idea and would like to pursue having that done. If we
don't get a volunteer we will use one of our handyman services.

Should there be a plan of months to have hot tub running? It uses a great
deal of electricity in the winter to heat and usage is dramatically reduced
(though there are occasional users.) Perhaps we should close it down for
the Winter work season? Let's ask folks what they think?

We have a complaint about bleach being used to clean the tables after
dinner. The bleach solution is sprayed and the aerosol can be annoying.
Bleach is notoriously difficult to get properly measured for sanitation -
then it goes off quickly and is not effective. Vinegar is the preferred
after dinner table and counter cleaning solution. The dosage is 100% white
vinegar and there are a couple of spray bottles on the pantry room door.
The morning cleaning crew does use bleach and so the counters will get that
treatment frequently as well. After dinner we think it best to use vinegar.

Our fourth Saturday meetings have been moved to 9:30 to leave room for the
CH rep, Deb, to attend the 10 am Touchstone meeting.


Judith asked about replacing the shared laundry detergent with another
brand because she suspects the residue may be causing her to have
allergies. We discussed at some length and were reluctant to spend money on
another brand of laundry detergent mid-bucket when it was not for certain
that it was the culprit. To narrow it down one cmtee member offered Judith
the option of doing laundry at her house for a couple of weeks to see if it
would make a difference.
