Meals minutes: 2014-12-20
Minutes:
Attendance: Willie, Malcolm, TammyWillie:
-
WAIT FOR CATHERINE: send Deb K the new member packet which has all sorts
of rules for meals, etc.
-
after we schedule the next meeting, invite the meals billers to give an
analysis
Tammy
-
review meals committee job descriptions, make sure they're accurate and
generic
-
For Hobart issues, like E3 errors, we ought to create a troubleshooting
cheat sheet and post it on the wall above the Hobart, look at the
troubleshooting page in the owner’s manual in the binder.
-
Convene an inventory shopper’s list to discuss what to purchase, and the
possibility of getting it online. Perhaps even splitting the job between
meals and CH.
Elph:
* (tabled until spring) ask Nicholas to fix the wheels of the veggie grill
-
follow up with Deb K about TS contributing to pantry fee
Malcolm:
-
(tabled until spring) research good deals on grills (500-550, budget
400, or up to 900). Should we think about buying replacement parts to
simply fix it?
Mini fridge - any further discussion on new one?
Willie will try to sell the old one
Breakdown of responsibilities across committees. Check the reserve fund, if
it’s in the reserve fund, then not meals. If not in reserve fund and in
kitchen and not attached to the structure and not furniture, then it is
meals… there are some exceptions. Is it used to make meals? Then it is
likely meals committee. Fire extinguisher and speakers are not meals.
Shopper - big box of baking soda.
Malcolm will contact Nancy asking her to clean the ovens.
Perhaps a clipboard with a piece of paper, hang below the current wishlist
whiteboard. Willie will do this. “We have a service contract with Hobart,
if you have a problem, note it, and then call Hobart at (734) 697-3070,
their business hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.”
We should document what we learn about the Hobart from service calls. For
example, in the wiki or the maintenance binder.
Deb will look into starting to give us money for a pantry fee from TS. Elph
will send email to follow up with her.
Jobs rotation: meals billers, and counted members, convener, etc. We should
examine people’s preferences to see if people are willing to do this.
CH inventory / shopper is a meals committee job, so we should be giving
feedback on that. If an item isn’t a “meals” item, it should get moved to
another list. Many of these staples and stuff can now get online shipped to
our door quite easily. Amazon or even Staples can do this. Perhaps we host
a “shopper’s meeting” inviting all 3 to discuss the inventory list, and
whether they think it’s plausible to order things online. Tammy will
schedule and host this.
Next meeting… doodle poll. Announce the chosen meeting time to the meals
list so that Deb K hears about it.
