Tammy
review meals committee job descriptions, make sure they're accurate and
generic
For Hobart issues, like E3 errors, we ought to create a troubleshooting
cheat sheet and post it on the wall above the Hobart, look at the
troubleshooting page in the owner’s manual in the binder.
Convene an inventory shopper’s list to discuss what to purchase, and the
possibility of getting it online. Perhaps even splitting the job between
meals and CH.
Elph:
* put the proportions on the side of the big rice cooker
1 cup white rice to 1 cup water OR 1 cup brown rice to 1.5 cups water.
* (tabled until spring) ask Nicholas to fix the wheels of the veggie grill
* Elph discard the extra rice cooker that lacks an insert and is thus
useless
Elph will contact the meals billers to ask them to do an analysis to
determine what our pantry fee needs to be to support an additional $1000
annually for equipment replacement.
Malcolm:
* research good deals on grills (500-550, budget 400, or up to 900).
Should we think about buying replacement parts to simply fix it?
We need money to pay for a new grill… and even a new small fridge. We don’t
have much money to buy new items. Touchstone isn’t paying us a pantry fee,
Deb will look into starting to give us money.
jobs rotation: meals billers, and counted members, convener, etc. We should
examine people’s preferences to see if people are willing to do this.
Kitchen re-design. We’re close to having enough funds to do this now. It’s
not on the work system line for next season, but likely for the summer
season.
Rod’s 10 accidental signups:
http://gocoho.org/pipermail/meals_gocoho.org/2014-November/003121.html
1) A user interface issue where I'm guessing that Rod had logged in and was
browsing the listing by scrolling down, and accidentally grabbed onto a
select list, scrolled to the bottom of that, and didn't notice that he had
reached the bottom of the options list (each of which maxes out at 10).
This is not the first time that this has happened.
2) A failure of the system to notice and alert on anomalies, particularly
since it involved a fairly large investment... not just 2-4 people. This
could easily have been a more expensive meal, instead of spaghetti.
Fortunately, Rod had received the email this morning, it would have been
nice if the notification email had gone out when the signup had happened.
This should also involve the cook.
3) There needs to be a community expectation that email won't be read all
day long. When I have an urgent message to communicate, I choose phone,
text, or in-person visit. There ought to be a community expectation about
the timeliness of email. I wouldn't expect a head cook to be checking their
email all day, instead they're likely working or shopping. If Mary had
known that this was a mistake, she could have not cooked an additional 10
servings of food, allowing her to take the ingredients off the dinner's
receipt... or maybe not even purchase the food in the first place. This in
effect left 47 diners to pay for 57 servings of food.
Workers for next season, convener, counted members, continuity vs regular
turnover.
New member packet - “At 7:30pm, when the cleaners are dealing with any
extra food, anyone can take home leftovers.” Willie will contact Catherine
to change it 7pm.
CH inventory / shopper is a meals committee job, so we should be giving
feedback on that. If an item isn’t a “meals” item, it should get moved to
another list. Many of these staples and stuff can now get online shipped to
our door quite easily. Amazon or even Staples can do this. Perhaps we host
a “shopper’s meeting” inviting all 3 to discuss the inventory list, and
whether they think it’s plausible to order things online. Tammy will
schedule and host this.
Next meeting… doodle poll. Announce the chosen meeting time to the meals
list so that Deb K hears about it.
