Minutes:

CH Committee Meeting - Dec 10, 2014

1. Review old monkeys
a. Ted has been emailed about blinds in game room

New business:

A. Blind cords are slowing down a lock-up person when they have to unwrap
them. The lock-up person points out that they blinds have a functioning
locking mechanism and that the cord wraps are superfluous.

Proposal to not have them - because at night when lowering the blinds it
takes a long time to unwind each one.
Perhaps we need to understand better why people are using them?
Maybe a sign?
What is the best place to test the signs? The TV room is the worst in terms
of frustration to the lockup person.
How about testing signs in the TV room?
Yes!
Suggested wording, "Please do not wrap the cord - keep our lock-up person
sane"
We'll try that and see how it works.

B: Laundry Room Detergent

The CH has been asked to clarify whether members can take laundry soap to
use at home?

No. The CH soap has been purchased so that the laundry machines in the CH
have the proper laundry soap. We believe that this, in the long term, will
reduce maintenance costs on the washing machines. (If we can avoid one
single maintenance call we will have paid for the laundry soap for one
year.)

To further elaborate: The use of the laundry room soap is not unlike the
use of other consumables purchased by the CH for people making use of the
the CH, such as, but not limited to, the hand soap, paper towels, and
toilet paper in the bathrooms. If someone were to borrow a roll of toilet
paper from the CH, if they were in a bind at home, we would expect them to
return a roll.
