Minutes:

Common House committee met at 7 p.m. Wednesday, 9 July 2014, in the Sitting
Room.

*Present:* Kathy B, convener pro tem; Paddy; and Jim G.

*Dryer: *The dryer closest to the window does heat up, but does not
reliably finish drying a load. Master Tech has been called and will come on
Friday, the 18th; there is money available in the CH maintenance budget.

*Air conditioner:* The unit closest to the hot tub was reported to be
making loud noises. Buildings called in a service tech, but while s/he was
there to check it, the machine did not display any problem.

*Flooring:* in the restrooms and possibly also the halls. We have not heard
back from the contractor.

*Hot tub: *Erik reports that the bearing in the motor is going bad, and he
intends to fix it in late July or August. However, he will not have time to
install insulation around the tub, and we should ask someone else to do
this.

*Painting the ceiling in the West end bath:* We also need to arrange for
someone to do this. It had been on the list of Work day jobs, and the
priming has been done, but the job has not been finished.

*Pre-assignments for next Work season: *These have been entered into the
system. *Paddy *is also interested in being pre-assigned to continue as a
committee member.

*The paper *applied to the windows over the doors leading out of the Dining
Room - intended to lessen the glare at certain times of the day - has come
unstuck.

We are still collecting opinions about the common supply of *laundry
detergent*. There is still a large amount available in the bucket that Adi
purchased. It is important to keep reminding people not to use too much,
whatever their supply.
