Minutes:

Process cmtee meeting
6/2/2014
6:45-7:45 at Elisha's house, unit 2
Present: Elisha, Becky H, Gail, Jillian

AGENDA
1. Checkins
2. Monkeys
3. Community Resource collection
4. Infoco hours
5. Next community meeting
6. Next process meeting

1. Checkins
Was good to check in, it had been a while, and lots going on.

2. Monkeys

MONKEY: We trade off bringing chocolate for the two meetings each month
(get reimbursed from Process meeting supplies) month by month:
May: Jillian
June: Becky H
July: Gail G
August: Elisha

Re-MONKEY: Jillian will look back at email and check in with Helen about if
Steering cmtee has looked at their mandate and are going to propose a
revised version. Gail had renumbered the sections thinking that might make
it easier for Steering to work on it.

Re-MONKEY: Elisha will contact the red cross to find out about a visit to
GO for AED training.

Re-MONKEY: Jillian will check in with Kelly and about the vision process
for the GO nature club. Jillian had checked with Rowena when she happened
to be with her on a camping trip, Rowena said that she had given a written
vision to Kelly.

MONKEY: Gail will ask GO, what do you want more information about - what
would help you in living here, or what are you interested in learning or
doing more of? That Process can purchase more resources for the cmty
collection. Could give examples.

MONKEY: At July process meeting Jillian will propose new amount of hours
for facilitators; will check in with facilitators in the mean time.

3. Community Resource Collection

I think we need to add new books to the community resource collection. We
need more suggestions for what kinds of resources people want. We have a
lot of things that seem most useful to a new community, and we're not new
any more.

What about Aging in Place, is that as much an issue here as it is at
Sunward? Yes, that's something people may want more information on, while
still wanting to be treated as individuals.

Cobb building? Hoop houses?

MONKEY: Gail will ask GO, what do you want more information about, what
would help you in living here, or what are you interested in learning or
doing more of? That Process can purchase more resources for the collection.
Could give examples.

4. Reducing hours and expectations of Infoco

So, for years after the Laird facilitation training, facilitators had
energy to meet over dinner once a month and talk about the upcoming
community meeting, and also do some kind of learning or practice or
discussion about facilitation. And also to do meeting debriefs after
regular meetings, to support each other in learning what we were doing
well, what areas we might improve in.

That energy has slowed reduced over time, and it seems like we're at the
point where Process cmtee might need to reduce facilitator hours to reflect
reality - facilitators are taking care of their own meetings, but don't
seem to have time any more for a monthly meeting. As far as debriefs, we
haven't had many challenging meetings in a good while (a good thing!) so
that has tapered off too, although I don't know that we should cut hours
for that completely since it can be so valuable when there is a more
challenging meeting. Thoughts?

Facilitation is currently 2 hours/month. Expected to prep for and
facilitate 2 community meetings, attend 1 meeting debrief a month, and
attend a monthly infoco meeting.

MONKEY: At July process meeting Jillian will propose new amount of hours
for facilitators.

5. June meeting

Don't have any definite items yet for the June 16 meeting. I assume F&L
will need to bring back their solar hot water proposal, but they said they
wanted specific numbers, don't know if they'll have them ready by then
since QuickBooks is having this major issue.

Don't know if Membership will come up with something, about good byes for
households or other things. We'll see.

6. Next process meeting

1st Tuesday in July is July 1.
