MONKEY: Jillian will get corrections from Mary for the minutes part of
Laird's report from Skills and Thrills and incorporate them into
finalminutes and send out to book of agreements.
MONKEY: Elisha will contact the red cross to find out about a visit to GO.
MONKEY: Becky H will check in with Rowena to see if she's interested in
helping us with the next steps and/or in an ongoing way, with a GO kids
nature club.
3. Next Regular Community meeting
3rd Monday in February - 2/17
Next community meeting - all we have is the decision on the F&L item. But
its school break week too, not even sure if we'd get quorum if we did have
the meeting. We should wait and see what other agenda items we get.
Idea - ask the Red Cross to come and do a CPR and give another lesson on
the defibrillator? Its been a long time since Malcolm did the first lesson.
We could have a heart health day. Would the red cross come, maybe we could
do a blood drive? We could do a cohousing blood drive. And we could invite
all three communities to the CPR training?
MONKEY: Elisha will contact the red cross to find out about a visit to GO.
4. Skills and Thrills
For 2014 we were talking about a half day of stuff for kids and a half day
of an adult topic - I was wondering if we would want to get some ideas for
stuff for kids.
Kids said they want a nature club. That might be a fun thing to get started
as a half day project. Maybe Rowena could help GOers who are interested,
learn how to set it up and keep it going.
You'd need well defined tasks to be doing - need a curriculum. And would
there be dues like a girl scout troop.
Rowena wants to do this nature school - if we don't have GO parents who are
able to put in the time to run something like this, these dues could may go
toward paying Rowena to lead GO's nature club. And GO parents who might be
too busy could still have their kids involved.
So a first step would be, to ask Rowena would you want to be involved in an
ongoing way in a GO kids nature club, if GO parents decide they'd like to
have her help. What would she need. Then we can bring it to a community
meeting to talk about the idea. She has the curriculums already, lots of
ideas.
MONKEY: Becky H will check in with Rowena to see if she's interested in
helping us with the next steps and/or in an ongoing way, with a GO kids
nature club.
How's work cmtee doing with skills and thrills stuff?
Work cmtee put out emails to those who said they'd be willing to have work
hours as liaisons in the next work season, have not heard back yet. Will
open it up to "talk" if don't hear back from those who said they were
interested.
Also Work Cmttee will ask to attend a meeting of every committee to get
feedback on how committees view "their" jobs and how the work is going.
Catherine is working to get together with people about ways to honor
elders.
5. Next meeting
Meet with Infoco on March 11, unless we need to change.
