AGENDA
1. Checkins
2. Monkeys
3. Work season check in - Jan 20th
4. Our meeting schedule
5. Skills and thrills, next steps
2. MONKEYS
MONKEY: we trade off, each taking a month in rotation, and some time during
our month we post a paragraph on "talk" about one book of our choice in the
community resource collection. We can take the description from amazon or
the jacket/cover if we haven't read it, that's fine.
January: Jillian
February: Elisha
March: Gail
MONKEY: Bring chocolate for the two meetings each month (get reimbursed
from Process meeting supplies) month by month:
January: Gail (Jillian has some candy left over from Dec to contribute)
February: Elisha
March: Becky
April: Jillian
MONKEY: Jillian will email Laird's report minus the minutes edit section to
talk and book of agreements.
MONKEY: Jillian will get corrections from Mary for the minutes part of
Laird's report from Skills and Thrills and incorporate them into final
minutes and send out to book of agreements.
MONKEY: Elisha will email Process with links to audio recordings of MLK
that we can play during the 1/20 community meeting (on MLK day)
MONKEY: Jillian will ask about making hush puppies for the MLK day meeting
- one of MLKs favorite foods.
MONKEY: Gail will email out info about collecting memories from 2013, at
the 1/20 community meeting.
3. Winter season, process work
Schedules all seem fine re minute takers and facilitators, thanks for doing
that Gail.
We only have one request for agenda time so far for Jan 20, MLK, about the
reserve fund, only 15 minutes.
At the last alternative meeting with Susan we talked about writing down
memories so Gail will lead something about collecting memories from 2013.
Also we like to have something that is MLK related.
Alicia suggested having some of his favorite foods there -such as hush
puppies? Jillian will ask.
Alicia also said perhaps we could take turns each reading a line or two
from one of his writings, like we do at the seder. As of now we don't have
someone with a reading they'd like to bring forward.
It would be nice to listen to his voice.
MONKEY: Elisha will find audio clips she likes and send to Process, we can
play during the meeting.
4. Process meeting schedule this season
We switched with infoco (facilitation group) last spring so we've been
meeting on first Tuesdays, and Infoco on second Tuesdays.
Jillian will be away the first Tues in March, so our idea was maybe in
March we could meet with Infoco on the second Tuesday? Nicholas has asked
to use the sitting room on second Tuesdays this work season so we'd need to
meet at unit 18 FYI.
So for winter our meetings would be 2/4, 3/11, and 4/1, if those seem like
they will work? We'll know as they get closer, Elisha's work schedule is
variable. Sometimes we are able to switch these at the last minute as
needed due to work and travel schedules etc.
5. Skills and Thrills
Laird emailed a report in December, it had a minutes section in it that
Mary King needs to go through and edit and she has not done that yet.
However seems like the rest of the report is fine to share now.
MONKEY: Jillian will email Laird's report to GO minutes the minutes
section.
Work cmtee will meet soon to talk about the weekend. Process is available
for consults with Work if wanted.
Work probably plans to work on language for changes, and to meet with
people who volunteered to help with meeting with members.
Perhaps more pieces can be followed up on in alternative meetings and
regular meetings.
Idea that came out of the weekend that it'd be good if kids become more
used to meetings - even have a kids meeting, and they can come to the first
part of a community meeting, to the icebreaker.
This next community meeting is especially kid friendly with the MLK item
and the sharing memories from 2013 items - kids could come to the first
half of the meeting.
Other thoughts on skills and thrills in general. For 2014 it could be split
in to two half days over the same weekend, or, two half days many months
apart, could be on the same topic or totally different. Winter and early
spring can be a good time for community work but we have done events even
in June when we needed to.
