Minutes:
Process cmtee meeting about Skills and Thrills10/26/2013, 3-4pm
present: Gail, Elisha, Becky H, Jillian
Skills and Thrills logistics
- Schedule: Coffee and breakfasty items out by 8:30am.
MEETING starts at 9am, til noon, might begin with a half hour of the
non-infant kids in the full circle with adults, talking about kids and
work, and then they'd head off with Rowena to continue this by 9:30.
(Childcare starts at 9am since not all kids will want to or be able to take
part.)
LUNCH 12 to 1pm. Meeting 1pm to 5pm.
DINNER and potluck salads and desserts at 6pm.
DRUMMING at 7pm.
- Important to have as many GOers participate as possible, planning to
contact people individually
- Since we don't have to pay a main presenter fee this year, we can do more
than usual to provide food and other benefits to make it more enjoyable
(stretching from Megan, full coverage for lunch, etc)
- Like the idea of having the kids talk about the community and work too,
Becky is talking with Rowena about what she can do.
- Megan will do two 15-minute stretch segments during the day, to lead the
community in stretching. For sure one of the two in the afternoon (always
harder after lunch), maybe one late morning if we need it, but it may be we
need two in the afternoon instead of one in the morning.
- Lori Fithian brining her Drummunity at 7pm Saturday night
- Kai (teen from Sunward) and Gabe on childcare.
MEALS
Breakfast will be bagels/cream cheese/ GF option / coffee / juice / fruit
Snacks will be apples, maybe some cookies or crackers
Lunch will be Chela's
Dinner will be lentil soup and baked potatoes, potluck salads and dessert
Notes on meals:
- coffee maker takes a while to heat up, make sure to turn it on by 8am, or
7:30, and ideally run one pitcher of water through before putting grounds
in just to make sure the water in there hasn't been sitting too long.
- Syndallas ordered Chela's last year for Skills and Thrills, seemed to
work out great. Thanks Elisha for investigating.
- Lentil soup for dinner seems better than rotisserie chickens - don't have
to go pick up the chickens and cut them up, no worry about vegetarian
options etc. Baked potatoes good as kid option too, better than bread.
- Lunch we'll use all paper products
- Dinner Jillian will see if we can get three cleaner volunteers so we can
use china. Hopefully drumming will be loud enough that its ok to use
hobart!
