The GO Meals Committee met on Tuesday, May 28.

New Member Packet - there are no content changes needed in the meal section of
the New Member Packet. Gail will let membership committee know this.

Organic food issues - this is a topic of an ongoing discussion. Many of our
cooks do make an effort to use organic foods. It is left up to the cooks and
the shopper to make choices depending on availability and cost. Tammy has
offered to repeat her "Food Choices" discussion at the alternative meeting in
July. This will include organic, local, grass-fed and other choices.

Equipment - we have two 10 cup rice cookers available and will continue to use
those for the time being. Mac has requested that we have a stainless steel rice
cooker and we will look into that option.
At the last meeting we approved the purchase of one electric griddle to cost no
more that $50.00. Since then we have had a suggestion that one griddle is not
sufficient and we should have two. It was also reported that the griddles
currently in the pantry were not bought by GO. We think they were brought by
TS cooks when they were having Sunday brunches. We will ask GO cooks to tell us
about their use of the griddles in the past and if they would use them if we
purchased two.

Local food information - Jillian has offered to work on a list of farmers'
markets after the end of June. It was suggested that a list be arranged by day
so that cooks could easily find markets that fit in with their meal schedule.
It was also suggested that we ask cooks to tell us about their experience with
local food purchases in standard grocery stores.

Other business - there are meals at the end of August that do not have cleaners
due to KatieZ's moving out of the community. We will ask for volunteers to fill
these slots.

Jobs for next season - Gail will be retiring as convener. Suggestions for a
convener and/or new members are welcome. Kathy and Gail are willing to stay on
as billers. Debbi is interested in being the shopper once again.

It was reported by TS that the meals bills for TS guests were not being sent to
the correct email address. A correction has been made and late fees accrued
have been removed from the account.
