Minutes:

Outdoor Fire Issue
Any fire held near wooded areas or structures is dangerous for our communities as well as the swim club; it was noted that there were dried Christmas trees in the area of the recent bonfire. In addition, we cannot depend on everyone taking the same level of responsibility with management, supervision, and fire prevention.
It was reported to us that the June 2010 Steering Minutes documented the GO policy of no outdoor fires and that the fire pit was dismantled. We need to verify this and research related documentation.
The community should be refreshed on this policy and members new since 2010 informed. It is not mentioned in the New Member Packet’s last edition in 2010. Members should also reinforce this policy with their renters.
Plan:
Check with Rod to explore related documentation in the archives about this issue - Hermann
When documentation is located and verified, send information/reminder to the community - Helen
Forward information to TS via the Steering Liaison and email - Gayle
Request that Catherine add it to the New Member Handbook she is working on - Helen
Speak directly to bonfire user about policy - Helen
Noise
CH noise regulations are quiet between 9 pm and 9 am weekdays and 11 pm and 9 am on weekends.
There has historically been an informal agreement for the same hours not only in the CH, but in all outside areas or the community.
We now into warm weather with opened windows, more kids around, and sleeping babies so it is a good time to reinforce this for old members and inform new members.
Plan:
Grounds will send out a reminder to the community - Hermann
Add to New Member Packet - Helen
“Refreshing moments”
It has previously come up that occasional/ongoing policy refreshers be provided to the community by committees--the outside fire policy and quiet hours are cases in point.
Plan: Suggest this to Process - Becky H
New Member: Since he did not attend the meeting, would be good for someone to orient Michael P to the Steering Committee’s process and communication and to be sure he has been added to the mailing list.
Plan: Meet with Michael - Helen
Next meeting - As needed; meantime will communicate by email.
