MONKEYS

MONKEY: idea - how about if we trade off, each taking a month in rotation,
and some time during our month we post a paragraph on "talk" about one book
of our choice in the community resource collection? We could take the
description from amazon or the jacket/cover if we haven't read it, that's
fine.
May: Jillian
June: Becky
July: Hope
August: Gail

Re-MONKEY: Jillian will post the job description for
facilitator-in-training to wiki.

Re-MONKEY: Jillian will send Hope the minute taking guidelines

MONKEY: Bring chocolate for the summer meetings (get reimbursed from
PRocess meeting supplies) month by month:
Becky: July
Gail: June
Hope: May 20
Jillian: August

MONKEY: Jillian will pass along edits to Membership cmtee, of the Meetings
and Conflict docs.

MONKEY: Later in summer check in with F&L about signing up to lead a fall
alt meeting, some kind of finance educational piece - Process got positive
feedback that people liked the practical finance focus at last year's
skills and thrills.

3. Summer work season

Any issues we know of? Seems like the work stuff has settled back down
again. Kate Long is staying so she is still on CRC. Discussion around
brining chocolate.
MONKEY: Chocolate for the summer meetings? Month by month?
Becky: July
Gail: June
Hope: May 20
Jillian: August

4. Reviewing the Membership packet docs

Went over two docs (Meetings and Conflict), Jillan took a few notes to give
to Membership.
MONKEY: Jillian will pass along edits to Membership cmtee, of the Meetings
and Conflict docs.

5. Skills and Thrills topic discussion followup

We read through the notes from the April community meeting about the Skills
and Thrills topic.

The main suggestion was to work on our work system.

There was a suggestion to keep learning about finances but that we don't
need to wait for Laird weekend for that. People liked the practical aspects
of it, learning about how to read our balance sheets and other financial
statements, and they liked the personal finance workshop. Very hands on and
applicable. How can we encourage F&L? Maybe an F&L person might be willing
to sign up to lead an upcoming alternative meeting and do some more
teaching about finance?
MONKEY: Check in with F&L about signing up to lead a fall alt meeting, some
kind of finance educational piece - Process got positive feedback that
people liked the finance focus at last year's skills and thrills.

Suggestion for a facilitation refresher - this would not be exciting to a
large group of people though. Could be an on-the-side thing but not the
main event.

Work cmtee feels like they need this kind of large and longer-length
community discussion, with outside facilitation. There's such a wide range
of views in the community about the work system work cmtee feels like the
long session with an outside facilitator is needed, to hear each other and
find a way forward.

Discussion about how open the Skills and Thrills could be? Probably only
open to Great Oak since it might get pretty direct and work on issues that
people need to be able to speak freely. And we want it to be a
decision-making meeting.

Work cmtee is busy dealing with the work skills discussions, has other
things its working on right now. And looking at tracking contingency hours.

We could bring this back now for consensus or we could wait. Lets wait
another month and then look at it again.

6. Refreshing Policy Moments

Was there one in particular that Steering was interested in having happen?
It came up in the discussions about quiet hours and the fire pit, but it
seems like those are moving forward without a refreshing policy moment.

Maybe one on laundry and how its changed?

This next meeting is full but perhaps for the meeting after that.

7. Next Process cmtee meeting
First Mondays this summer, so next one will be 6/3.
