Monkey - Tammy will look at storage cabinet possibilities when she goes to Ikea
1) GOCooks list - message about canceling meals. Gail presented a draft of a
message to be sent to head cooks. Several suggestions were made for additions
to the Quick & Easy last minute meals section. Gail will send message.
Debbi will be asked for a report on the food preferences survey and the food
allergies update.
2) Work Day tasks - Mary had asked that a kitchen tutorial be included in each
work day schedule. We will request that this be included in May work days.
Reorganizing cupboards - Suggestions include moving reserve supply of salad
dressing and condiments from cupboard over the refrigerator to a cupboard near
small refrigerator. Supply of plastic tubs and take-home containers will be
sorted and reduced to provide more space in cupboards. Other projects will
depend on obtaining an additional storage unit.
3) More about storage - Gail attended a CH committee meeting to let that
committee know that Meals has some money to contribute to purchase of additional
storage units ($200 is suggested amount) and that we are hoping to rearrange
existing cupboard space. Tammy will look at Ikea for an appropriate storage
unit when she next shops there. We would like to have a unit in place for the
work day tasks.
4) Looking ahead to next work season - Gail reported on jobs assigned as of time
of meeting. There are 4 weekday head cook positions left unfilled. To fill
these open shifts, we agreed to seek volunteers to take a single head cook shift
so we do not have to cancel any meals. The Meals Committee has had a policy
that newcomers to the community should have experience as an assistant cook
before taking on the job of head cook.
5) Other business - Kathy reported that some head cooks request credits to
their meals account instead of reimbursement by check. Some of these amounts
have grown to a significant amount. She proposes to contact the cooks and ask
them to accept a check instead of building up more credit. The credits result
in an unrealistic meals balance.
6) Next meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 23, at 6:45.
