Monkeys -

GO cooks email list - Willie has added names of all head cooks to the meals
email list and the list is up and running. There was an initial flurry of
messages about posting menus in advance. Meals committee members have agreed to
send periodic messages to the list.
* Debbi will work on a messages about cancelling meals. This was discussed at
some length in a previous meals committee meeting. Debbi will try to resurrect
that discussion, to include possible solutions when a head cook cannot do a
shift.
*Nancy will send a message about the staples list (which is posted next to the
white board in the kitchen). GF flour will be added to the list. Cheese sticks
and baby carrots will not be considered staples items. Individual cooks may
choose to purchase them for kids at their meals. It has been found that these
items are being used as between meals snacks and thus sometimes not available at
meals.

Standard purchasing list - This list turns out to be the same as the current
staples list.

Questions about food preferences - Debbi will continue working on a short list
of questions about food preferences which will be sent out to community.

Food allergies - Debbi will also work on updating the list of food allergies.

Purchase of casserole dishes - Debbi did purchase 2 additional casserole dishes
and lids.

Meeting Night Meals workers - Willie, the meals scheduler, reported that for the
third work season in a row both meeting night workers are unable to work on the
same date. He has asked that the jobs be broken in half so that there are more
potential workers. It was decided to increase the number of slots from 2 to 4
leaving the work credit as is.
Meeting Night workers job descriptions - it was decided not to change the job
descriptions at this time. The committee continues to recommend the use of
paper plates on meeting nights to limit the work load of the cleaner. Meal
orderers are strongly encouraged to put pans and other equipment to soak when
using kitchen utensils in preparing the meal, to help make cleanup quicker and
easier..

Other business - diners who have not signed up for a meal. While cooks are not
required to "take attendance" at meals, it is suggested that they review the
signup list if there seem to more diners than there are seats at their

meal.

Missing meals - Gail reported at the 1/21 community meeting and then on email
that 2 meals had been cancelled for lack of workers. Community members were
asked to step forward to make these meals possible. The April 29 meal has been
added to the schedule with head cook, Sarah, Greg and Helen as assistant cooks,
and Nicholas, Adi, and Jim as cleaners. The April 25 meals now has Nancy and
Paddy as assistant cooks, but a head cook and 3 cleaners are still needed. (Jane
has stepped forward as head cook; Nicholas and Ted as cleaners.)

The next committee meeting will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 6:45 pm, in
the sitting room.
