Next meeting
MONKEYS:
Monkeys from last meeting were done.
MONKEY: Gail will order the biking book for the community collection.
MONKEY: Gail will distribute scheduling forms via paper and email for the
winter process jobs.
MONKEY: Jillian will email Becky the dimensions of the new easel, hopefully
she can buy cloth for the cover in this fiscal year.
MONKEY: Jillian will email info out about member resources in January -
remind people that we have this.
MONKEY: Idea for future work seasons - to encourage new facilitators, have
one extra facilitator slot for work credit, for someone who is new and who
would not facilitate, but would be like an intern. Come to infoco and come
to debriefs when they can to learn without the pressure. Maybe could do
support roles in meeting - scribe, etc.
MONKEY: Gail will do the 2012 memory forms and get a gift cert from Nicolas.
MONKEY: idea - how about if we trade off, each taking a month in rotation,
and some time during our month we post a paragraph on "talk" about one book
of our choice in the community collection? We could take the description
from amazon if we haven't read it, that's fine.
Purchases and Budget
Should be doing fine for this year.
Good to keep reminding people about the member resources fund that they
could use toward a class or workshop (eg, composting, finance,
meeting-related, repair, etc etc.)
MONKEY: Jillian will email info out about member resources in January -
remind people that we have this.
Adi suggested another book for the community collection about commuting by
bike, sure.
Discussion, how do we get more people to use the books that we have? Maybe
we could have a special case for them? Or even just a little stand to put a
few face-out? Jillian has a couple stands, Gail will try putting a few
books face out. Emailing reminders that we have these books is a good idea.

Re the hanging dots - we have a lot of masking tape but when we get low we
can try these hanging dots, they sound very easy to use.
Need the cloth for the new easel purchased in 2012 if possible. Easel was
purchased and assembled. (Thanks Elph!)
MONKEY: Jillian will email Becky the dimensions of the new easel, hopefully
she can buy cloth for the cover in this fiscal year.
Monday's meeting
Will have the infoco mandate, and a new member orientation plan, and the
2012 memories. Nice short meeting before the holidays.
Gail would like to do a memories of 2012, the way we did for 2009.
Did a drawing from all the memories people turned in and we got a gift
certificate to Nicola's. Sure, that sounds good.
MONKEY: Gail will do the 2012 memory forms and get a gift cert from Nicolas.
Refreshing policy moments
In person at the meeting or over email - which is better? Hard to know, I
think its good to do both. Doing it at a meeting gives people a chance to
ask questions, and doing it over email may reach more people overall.
Scheduling for next work season
MONKEY: Gail will send out the scheduling form on email tomorrow and will
also will put in people's cubbies.
Deadline will be somewhat short so we can figure out the schedule soon -
January will be here in no time. We will see if anyone else can do the
alternative meeting on Jan 2 - Willie can if no one else can but he's
considering going out of town.
MONKEY: Idea for future work seasons - have one extra facilitator slot for
work credit, for someone who is new and who would not facilitate, but would
be like an intern. Come to infoco and come to debriefs learn without the
pressure.
Discussion about Adi's idea about discussing sharing with other cohousing
communities - sounds like a fun idea, could be a brainstorm at a meeting
some time - what could we offer other communities and what would we like
from other communities. Coho communities have big picture similarities but
under that we're all very different. A very successful exchange is among
the Federation of Egalitarian Communities (FEC, like Twin Oaks and Sandhill
Farm) - they do a labor exchange, but, they are all "working full time" for
their communities. Maybe a housing swap would be our most likely exchange,
but there could be other things.
Next meeting:
2nd Tues in January will be Jan 8, 6:45, sitting room should be available
