MONKEYS:
Ongoing: Jillian will find the list we had brainstormed of areas to flesh
out guidelines or teaching moments for, to add to Infoco agenda. Add each
facilitation recipe as we complete it, to the Process section of the wiki.
MONKEY: Jillian to tweak Infoco draft per tonite's feedback and bring back
to the April infoco meeting
MONKEY: Infoco to discuss again at the next meeting, crafting an agenda
item where the community talks about stand asides.
MONKEY: Sarah to let Jillian know if she can continue as a facilitator in
the summer work season.
MONKEY: Mary to let Jillian know if April 3 would work for the next Infoco
meeting. Jillian and Elph can't make it on April 5.
Minutes:
Last night's alternative meeting about conflictDebrief from last night - it was good, and, short. There were questions and
comments on the process, it would have been good to have time to talk more
about them, about people's triggers. Plus the last activity felt somewhat
rushed. The content was all very valuable, and the discussion that it
sparked. Maybe we can do another session, this fall?
Most effective part for me was first two things - ranking yourself, and
then getting into your groups. Perhaps because the last sections we did not
have enough time. Useful to me to see where everyone put themselves. To
see who identified themselves as a Turtle, Owl. Shark, Fox, Teddy Bear. I
think it will be helpful to me in communicating with my neighbors. I
thought it was a very valuable use of 90 minutes.
Next community meeting
Elph and Tammy facilitating
Main items are:
New Member Welcome (Catherine),
F&L - New Financial Reports - Becky & Kathy B.
Meals - Participation in Meals Work System - ?
small item - FIC board meeting, - Jillian
>From F&L minutes:
The reports we’d like to have the accountant send out monthtly as pdfs
to GO-Talk are:
· A/R without names
· Balance sheet with all non-zero balances (includes reserve &
rollovers)
· Budget to actuals report
· Committee expense reports
Searched for Meals minutes to get a hint of what they might be planning on
doing and did not find any meals minutes. Elph and Tammy will need to
contact Meals and find out more info.
Infoco draft mandate
Read through the revised version.
I think we should take C and D out. Write a job description for
facilitators and have that separate, "see addendum".
B re-write from perspective of infoco - infoco is what runs the debrief.
Put it into the infoco piece.
A, don't title it that - infoco meetings are chance for facils to come
together etc- I really like all the pieces covered in there. Maybe title A,
Monthly infoco planning meetings. B. infoco debriefs, write from Infoco
point of view.
Roles - 2nd paragraph, add to job facilitator job description addendum.
add bullet points to why we do debriefs, like you did in A. And that we
invite presenters and anyone interested, and why.
So Infoco should continue to exist? Definitely yes, its been really really
helpful to me to have this group, to help me when I'm going to facilitate a
challenging meeting, to know the group is there to support me. And to learn
from after meetings.
I think about how it might feel it we didn't have this - we'd feel like we
were just out there, alone. We'd lose something.
Next work season
So far the facilitators Jillian has heard from, are available to continue
next season. Sarah is going to check her calendar and get back to Jillian.
Stand asides monkey
Infoco to craft an agenda item where the community talks about stand asides
in some educational and productive way.
This came out of a meeting in the fall. The time to do it is when we don't
have any big conflicts. Read through our powerpoint.
Standing aside - Elph read from some of our facilitation training notes. If
the standasides are for the same concern vs for differing concerns - more
risky to proceed if all the standasides are for different reasons.
Re-education piece about consensus and stand asides
Idea - community understanding that if we have more than X number of
standasides we go back and read this facilitation training document in the
moment in the meeting. Different than saying, X stand asides and we can't
move forward. Just that if we have X stand asides we take the time to
reflect and go over what stand asides are.
How can we get more consistency about what we say stand asides are and how
we use them.
I like that idea of reading the agreement about what stand asides are, in
the moment, in a meeting where we have several.
Next steps? No one ready to take a monkey to craft an agenda item yet.
Bring it back to infoco to work on bringing it to a community meeting.
Next infoco meeting
Jillian and Elph can't make it 4/5. How about 4/3? Sounds ok to Alicia.
Mary will check her calendar.
