3. CRC checkin

How have things been going the last several months for CRC, any thoughts
about your process and ways Process can support you?

CRC work has gone well, working with a new member (Kate) went fine. Susan
and Alicia each handled a couple things on their own. Three or four
neighbor issues that CRC worked on. Not too tricky to resolve, getting
together once or twice. Then there was a larger issue where several CRC
members were involved, that one was more difficult and complicated,
involved a series of meetings, and then it evolved in a different direction
and went to the community, CRC was not asked to be involved after that
point. For me an issue we worked on highlighted how important the
two-community-meeting process is.

What did I learn? For an issue where there is both personal and
collective/community involvement/tensions, before we leave a meeting I
would ask people involved to keep CRC in the loop about where things go and
to give CRC the opportunity to be involved in future discussions as things
evolve.

CRC has had large issues that they've worked on over time. For potential
community issues, consider asking CRC's help in facilitating groups of
people - interest groups, or committees, that are working on an issue,
where people are trying to understand eachother and come to agreement on a
way forward. Also perhaps CRC could then facilitate a full community
meeting if the issue then comes to the commuity meeting, CRC could be in
that role and facilitate, up front. Get community permission for CRC to
facilitate.

Potential of another new CRC member in summer 2012, Alicia talking about
rotating off. Discussed talking with people now who current CRC members
think would be good to have step in.

MONKEY: CRC to approach people directly over the next couple months, to ask
if they'd like to be on CRC starting in the next work season, and let
Process know.

4. Process's winter alternative meeting on conflict

Process asked for one of the alternative meeting slots for winter 2012. We
had gotten the suggestion of the community getting practice at dealing with
conflict, both in meetings and outside of meetings. Idea of an evening
about conflict resolution - Susan has lots of materials we could use. This
is part of what her paid work is - bringing conflict out into the open so
that it can be worked through well.

Susan is willing to help with this alternative meeting, yay! (Looks like it
will be the March alternative meeting, with planning to happen in mid-Feb
since Jillian is away the end of Feb.)

Noted that the facilitators getting practice as this is good too, this
evening is for everyone but more may be wanted for facilitators.

Small group and report out in 90 minutes, create scenarios where conflict
would be inevitable. Much easier for some than for others - extroverted vs
introvert, your family of origin has a huge impact on this - how you react
to these kinds of situations.

MONKEY: Jillian and Susan (and anyone else from Process who is
available/wants to), to get together in mid-Feb to plan the March
alternative meeting on conflict resolution practice.

5. Work scheduling

Gail will send out her scheduling form for our winter Process jobs. Jillian
and Gail will get together briefly before Christmas to create the schedule
and post it.

6. Next meeting
Second Tuesday in January is 1/10, but Jillian is not available that night
so it may be rescheduled.
----------

MONKEYS:

COOLER: Process will look at our agreements in the BOA and make a list of
what should be marked expired, and ask other committees to do so as well.

MONKEY: At announcements at every meeting just remind people, about writing
thank-yous and about putting pet photos on the thank you board. Also, a
reminder that if someone wants to appreciate something but doesn't know who
did it, they can post a thank you note on the thank you board.

COOLER: Jillian and Gail will write answers to the draft self-evaluation
questions. Then we'll pass it along to Infoco and let them do it. And then
see what we think of the questions and answers and if we want to pass it
along to other committees.

Ongoing MONKEY: set up at least one alternative meeting ahead of time: each
work season process could take ownership of one of the alternative meetings
and pull up some of these ideas that have come our way - we would make the
arrangements for someone to do a presentation or lead the item that had
been suggested.

COOLER: Next year make the budget meetings back to 2 hours instead of 90
minutes.

MONKEY: CRC to approach people directly over the next couple months, to ask
if they'd like to be on CRC starting in the next work season, and let
Process know.

MONKEY: Jillian and Susan (and anyone else from Process who is
available/wants to), to get together in mid-Feb to plan the March
alternative meeting on conflict resolution practice.
