Skills and Thrills Planning Meeting
10/28/10

Present: Peter, Jillian, Nancy, Amy

Jillian emailed a draft PDF of the schedule, looks good. Which is good,
since Jillian came with 40 printouts, and Peter stapled and numbered them
during the meeting, and then we put them in people's cubbies.

Will need to remind people about what Ted said today; if kids want to do a
workshop project on Saturday afternoon they will need a parent with them.

Rachel has arranged full childcare coverage, yay! 2 people at all times, for
4 hours on Sat, and 4 hours on Sun, divided among Willa, Alan, and Sandy.

Peter gathered 20 to 30 bullet points, topics of interest for Steve's
workshop on Home Maintenance, Elph and Malcolm and Peter had a phone call
with Steve, Steve said it sounded good. too much to cover in 2 hours but
they would get to waht they could. He suggested priortizing that list first
and send it off to Steve and he'll write an agenda.

At Wednesday's community meeting - hang a flip chart on the wall with the
list and say people can each put 3 dots on their top 3.

MONKEY: Jillian will askl Mary and Elph if they can put in 5 minutes for a
Home Maintenance item to rank the items.

Susan Wright - trying to get together with Peter here at GO. Idea to use
them in the path on the west end. The stepping stones need to cure for a
day, idea to put them on the north patio up against the building while they
cure.

Also we'll need drop cloths? Maybe people have extras. OR maybe Susan plans
to bring some?

MONKEY: Peter will work on getting together with Susan.
MONKEY: Peter will find out if Susan will be bringing drop cloths or if we
should plan to buy some, or borrow some if GOers are ok with not getting
them back. (May not be reusable with concrete on them.)

Some presenters will need to use the microphones.

Knife skills workshop - by Tammy's friend Natalie.

Dilemma about how to raise a dining room table up 6 to 8 inches for use
during the knife sklls class. Peter has square deck blocks with a 4 x 4 hole
in the middle, might be able to stack them!

MONKEY: This weekend Jillian and Peter if he's here, will try out one of the
blocks and see how they might work.

MONKEY: Knife skills workshop, Jillian will email Willie about veggies to
cut up for dinner that night.

MONKEY: Jillian will ask Erik if he will need any supplies.

Process will buy coffee and some snacks. Esp for Sunday since there's no
meal.

We need to advertise this.

MONKEY: Jiliain will email the PDF of the weekend plan to Amy so she can
print it out on 11 x 17 then Jillian can write on it and post them.

Should we try to do evaluations on both days. Or a written one afterwards,
might be hard to do evaluations on SAturday since peopel will be here and
there, and on Sunday we'll need to clean up quick and set up the dining room
for dinner.

Minutes or videoing of any presentations? Videoing would be good! People
who could not make it could watch it later. Annie and Steve's especially. if
we agree to only have them on our internal wiki, for people who had to miss
it. We would not make them public or post them anywhere else.
MONKEY: Amy and Peter ask Annie and Steve about being video'd for our
internal use only.
MONKEY: Jillian will ask Elph about using his new little video camera to
video them, if they are ok with it.

MONKEY: Jillian will check on the meal signup to see who from TS will be
doing Sunday brunch and give them a heads up that we will need the dining
room and kitchen as early as possible. (Jillian tried to do this earlier but
no one from TS was assigned yet.)
