NON-SMOKERS ONLY / NO PETS
Renters are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to fully participate in community life at Great Oak! Activities we share as a community and as neighbors include community meetings, the meals program, social events, gardening, spontaneous gatherings, annual celebrations, neighborly sharing, ride requests, etc.
Renters will be assigned hours and are REQUIRED to contribute to the community’s work system. This consists of 7 - 10 hours a month of assigned tasks that help maintain our facilities and decision making processes. Tasks may include: weeding, snow removal, interior cleaning, cooking, kitchen clean-up, committee work, facilitation, child care, bldg maintenance, etc. Personal preferences, schedules and skill sets are taken into consideration when work is assigned. Community work connects us with each other and keeps Great Oak a great place to live.
The household currently consists of 1 adult, myself, Sarah, and my dog Babe, a 15 year old Black Lab. I work part-time. Expectations re: chores and sharing of space are negotiated as needed. In general the basement renter is expected to live in the basement. I look forward to building relationships with my housemates so that we get to know each other and appreciate sharing the house together. This means an occasional shared meal, a card night or game night, or social outings.
You MUST be a NON-SMOKER. Light smokers do not count as NON-SMOKERS. I am very sensitive to the smell of smoke on clothing and have ZERO TOLERANCE for the smell in my house. There is ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING permitted in or around the house.
